What happened
A digital sign at London's O2 arena was caught displaying a Windows 10 update notification while advertising an indoor skydiving experience. Windows 10, which left support last year, still holds roughly 30% market share per Statcounter, and Microsoft quietly extended consumer security updates to 2027 in June 2026.
Why it matters
If you ship kiosk, signage, or embedded Windows software, expect Windows 10 to remain in the field through at least 2027 — plan testing and support accordingly rather than assuming migration to Windows 11 is complete.
Discussion angle
How long do you keep supporting an OS version that's officially end-of-life but still runs on a third of devices in the wild?
