What happened
Apple Watch Ultra 4 launches in Malaysia at RM3,699 (matching the Ultra 3's launch price), with pre-orders starting 11 September and retail availability on 18 September 2026. Key upgrades include the S11 chip, a new Health Sensing System with larger green LEDs sampling heart rate every 5 seconds, a native Readiness score (0-10), and battery life up to 50 hours standard or 84 hours in Low Power Mode.
Why it matters
This is a consumer hardware product announcement with no direct impact on what builders ship. Health/fitness app developers targeting watchOS may want to note the new Readiness API and continuous HR/HRV data streams, but the article does not confirm developer API availability.
Discussion angle
Whether the new continuous health-sensing data (5-second HR, 24x HRV, Readiness score) opens any viable niche for Malaysian health/fitness app builders, or whether Apple's first-party apps already close that door.
