What happened
US Air Force Secretary Troy Meink confirmed at the Air and Space Forces Association conference that the US Space Force has deployed unspecified 'space control weapons' into orbit, without disclosing their nature or launch details. Possible systems include satellite jamming devices, EMP-style electronics disruptors, or kinetic weapons, the latter risking a Kessler Syndrome debris cascade. China's foreign ministry responded urging the US to stop militarizing space, and BRICS nations had just called for prevention of an arms race in orbit.
