What happened
Lowyat.NET announced that a new-generation MyKad rolls out today (17 September 2026), but the article body was not captured—only site navigation boilerplate is available. No technical specifications, chip changes, security features, or rollout details are present in the provided text.
Why it matters
Without article details, no concrete action or decision can be recommended. If the new MyKad changes chip specs, e-KYC integrations, or identity verification APIs, builders in fintech, govtech, and KYC-dependent SaaS would need to update their verification flows—but this cannot be confirmed from the text provided.
Discussion angle
Briefly flag the headline and ask if anyone in the group has seen specs or JPN announcements—do not speculate on features not in the source text.
