What happened
Tom's Hardware highlights a $300 discount on the ABS Stratos II prebuilt gaming PC, bringing it to $2,599. The rig pairs an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D with an Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB DDR5 RAM, and a 2TB SSD.
Why it matters
For builders considering a local AI inference or development machine, this sets a concrete price floor: ~$2,599 gets you a 5070 Ti-class GPU and 32GB RAM in prebuilt form, which is useful as a baseline when pricing a self-assembled workstation. Beyond that price comparison, there is no actionable takeaway for this audience.
Discussion angle
Whether prebuilt gaming PCs like this are ever worth buying for local LLM inference versus building a dedicated workstation with a higher-VRAM used card.
