What happened
Tom's Hardware is flagging a deal on the Cherry Xtrfy MX 3.1 wired mechanical gaming keyboard at just $34, described as over 70% off list price. The pitch is a full-size board with Cherry MX2A switches. The article body is almost entirely site boilerplate — subscription prompts, newsletter signups, and premium-membership copy — so there is no review data, no measured typing or latency numbers, and no independent testing behind the discount claim.
Why it matters
Nothing here changes what a developer or founder should build, buy, or decide. If someone in the call is specifically shopping for a cheap full-size mechanical keyboard with MX2A switches, $34 is the only concrete number worth noting — but this is a price post, not a technical evaluation, and there is no information on stock, region availability, shipping, or whether the discount applies to buyers outside the US.
Discussion angle
Skip it, or use it as a 30-second aside: does anyone in the group actually care about keyboard switch choice in 2026, or has everyone settled on whatever laptop they were issued?
