What happened
A sponsored Tom's Hardware deals post highlights a gaming laptop with an RTX 5070 at $1,299, plus RTX 5060 and RTX 5050 models discounted by up to $450. The published text is almost entirely site navigation, membership prompts, and newsletter signup boilerplate; no specific laptop brand, CPU, RAM, storage, display, benchmark, or expiry date is given in the excerpt.
Why it matters
Almost nothing actionable here — the excerpt is sponsored content with no named model, no benchmark, and no purchase link detail, so there is no basis to compare it against other GPU laptops or judge whether $1,299 is actually good value. Treat it as an ad, not a deal analysis.
Discussion angle
Skip unless someone in the group is specifically shopping for a local-GPU laptop for inference — and if so, ask them to bring the actual model specs, since this post names none.
