What happened
A fan-built site, legendofhyrule.com, lays out the full Zelda chronology — both release order and Nintendo's official timeline with its child/adult/fallen-hero branches after Ocarina of Time — with a 20-day countdown running to the Ocarina of Time remake. It reached the Hacker News front page with 182 points and 109 comments. The excerpt contains no technical write-up, no build details, and no AI, developer-tooling, or Malaysian/SEA content.
Why it matters
Nothing here changes what a developer, founder, or AI learner should build or decide — the text is game lore and a countdown, not tooling, pricing, policy, or an incident. Read it as a data point on what gets Hacker News attention (a polished single-purpose reference site at 182 points), not as something to act on.
Discussion angle
Why does a niche, hand-curated reference site pull 182 points and 109 comments while most Show HN product launches stall — and is the 'countdown to a release' hook the part worth copying for your own launch page?
