What happened
Tom's Hardware flagged a deal on the iBuyPower Slate gaming PC at $899, a $300 discount, with DDR5 memory and 10GB of graphics VRAM. The excerpt carries no CPU, GPU model, RAM capacity, or storage details — the listing text is mostly site navigation, so the only hard numbers are the price, the discount, and the VRAM figure.
Why it matters
The single decision-relevant number here is 10GB of VRAM: that is the ceiling on which quantized local models you can load, and it sits below the 12–16GB cards people usually target for local inference. If you are shopping a machine for local model work rather than gaming, treat $899 as a starting point and check the actual GPU model before buying — this item does not name it, so it cannot be evaluated on that basis.
Discussion angle
For anyone considering a cheap box for local models: is 10GB VRAM worth it in 2026, or is the same $899 better spent on cloud inference credits until 16GB cards drop in price?
