What happened
Charge+ Malaysia revised EV charging subscription pricing for new subscriptions from 1 October 2026. Public plans now cost RM726 for 600kWh, RM920 for 800kWh, and RM1,296 for 1,200kWh, up 34% to 44% from RM540/RM640/RM900, equivalent to RM1.21/RM1.15/RM1.08 per kWh. New Condo plans cost RM582/RM752/RM1,068 for the same kWh bundles (RM0.97/RM0.94/RM0.89 per kWh), usable only at condo/residential Charge+ chargers, while public plans no longer cover condo chargers; sign-up is via the Charge+ app using credit/debit card only.
Why it matters
If you or your team use Charge+ public charging, the old RM900 1,200kWh plan at RM0.75 per kWh is gone; Public Max is now RM1,296 at RM1.08 per kWh, so compare against pay-per-use before renewing. Condo dwellers get a cheaper dedicated plan, but public-plan quota cannot be used at condo/residential chargers, and the app’s card-only subscription payment is a concrete constraint for anyone modelling recurring payments in Malaysia.
Discussion angle
Use the per-kWh numbers to decide whether Public Max or Condo Max is worth it: RM1.08 per kWh vs RM0.89 per kWh, but the condo quota is locked to residential chargers. Also ask why subscription payment is card-only when Malaysian apps often support FPX or e-wallets.
